Kris Arneson is the Assistant Chief of Police for the Minneapolis Police Department. The Assistant Chief is in charge of the Department’s day to day operations while overseeing both short and long term strategies and operations. “AC Arneson,” as she’s known, brings decades of experience to the position, having started her MPD career in January of 1986. She’s held every rank in the Department aside from Chief, and that includes commanding the 5th and 1st Precincts. She has been nationally recognized for her work leading the fight against domestic violence and leading the Police Executive Research Forum’s “Cedar Riverside Exploratory Policing Project.” The result of this groundbreaking project are now national and international best practice models.
