One Dead and One Injured in Early Morning Shooting

August 5, 2017 (MINNEAPOLIS) Officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to the 1100 block of Broadway Avenue West on a Shotspotter activation just before 3:00 a.m.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim who had been shot. Paramedics from North Memorial Health Hospital (NMHH) arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.

While officers were securing the shooting scene, they were notified that another victim related to this shooting had been dropped off at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC). The adult female had a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her left arm.

Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit and MPD’s Crime Lab will be investigating this homicide.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased, as well as the exact cause of his death.

There have been no arrests.
